Medicare Advantage

A free plan review, starting with your doctors and medications

A plain-language look at your Medicare Advantage options from a licensed independent insurance agent, before you decide on anything.

What a free plan review is

Every Medicare Advantage plan sets its own network of doctors and its own list of covered medications (called a formulary). A free plan review checks both of those things by name, before anything else.

Your doctors, checked first

We check the doctors you see today against each plan's network directory, one by one. If a plan doesn't include a doctor you want to keep, it's ruled out, as of today's information.

Your medications, checked by name

We go through the medications you currently take and see how each plan handles them. Coverage tiers and rules vary by plan, so we look at the specifics rather than general descriptions.

A plain-language walkthrough

No jargon, no rushing. We explain what we find in plain language so you understand your options clearly before you make any decision.

No cost, no obligation

The review itself doesn't cost anything and doesn't commit you to anything. You decide what, if anything, happens next.

Who this is for

A free plan review is a good fit if any of this sounds like you:

Turning 65

You're approaching Medicare eligibility and want a clear, unhurried walkthrough of how the options work before you enroll.

Reviewing your current coverage

You already have a plan and want a second look at how it's handling your doctors and medications during a valid enrollment period.

New to Florida

You've recently moved to the area and want local, independent guidance on how your coverage works here.

Concerned about prescription costs

You want to understand how your medications are treated by different plans before renewal or enrollment season.

Medicare Advantage, in plain language

Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare, as an alternative way to receive your Medicare benefits. Each plan sets its own network of doctors and hospitals, and its own formulary: the list of medications it covers and the rules around them.

Two plans can treat the very same doctor visit or the very same prescription differently. That's why a plan review looks at your specific doctors and medications by name, rather than relying on general plan descriptions or ratings. Coverage details can change from year to year, so what's checked is what's accurate as of today, not a guarantee for the future.

As an independent insurance agent, Michael represents a limited number of insurance companies rather than every plan on the market (see the disclosure below). The goal of a review is simply to show you clearly how the available options compare, so you can make an informed decision.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans, explained honestly

A Medicare Supplement plan, also called Medigap, works alongside Original Medicare instead of replacing it. Medicare pays its share of your care first, and the supplement picks up most of what's left, the deductibles and coinsurance that otherwise come out of your pocket. You can see any doctor in the country who accepts Medicare. No networks, no referrals.

Plan G and Plan N, in plain words

Plan G is the fullest supplement sold to new enrollees today: after you meet the annual Part B deductible, it covers essentially everything Medicare approves. Plan N trades a lower monthly premium for small copays at the doctor and emergency room, and it does not cover the rare "excess charges" some providers bill. Premiums for both vary by your age, county, tobacco use, and carrier, which is why comparing quotes from several carriers matters more than any single company's ad.

Can I switch my Medicare Supplement plan?

Usually yes, and unlike Medicare Advantage, you don't have to wait for fall enrollment. Outside your first open enrollment window, switching a supplement generally involves answering a few health questions, and if you qualify, you can move to a lower rate or a different carrier any month of the year. If you've had the same Medigap plan for years and never re-shopped it, a comparison costs nothing and takes one call.

Supplement or Medicare Advantage, which fits?

A supplement costs more each month and covers more predictably: any Medicare doctor, minimal surprise bills, plus a separate Part D drug plan. Medicare Advantage bundles everything with a lower monthly premium, often with dental and vision extras, in exchange for a network and plan rules. Neither is automatically right. The honest answer comes from your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget, checked side by side.
